CPCU Vermont Chapter Earns the 2025 Circle of Excellence!

Based on the VT Chapter’s outstanding achievements, we are delighted to share that the Vermont Chapter has earned a place in the 2025 Circle of Excellence!

The Circle of Excellence Program honors chapters that successfully advance strategic, chapter, and member-focused goals. The VT Chapter’s accomplishments reflect a strong commitment to delivering meaningful value to our members, elevating thought leadership, and supporting the CPCU Society’s broader strategic vision. We are truly grateful for and inspired by all that we have  achieved!


May 2026 CEO Roundtable!

Reminder to all CPCU’s that our CEO round table breakfast meeting will be held at the Capitol Plaza in Montpelier on 5/14/26 from 8-10am. If you are starting to take CPCU classes or interested in joining as a pathways member please reach out. We are always looking to add dedicated insurance professionals to our board. This includes the CPCU mentoring match program where you can work with a VT CPCU.

On 2/17/26 the VT CPCU board meet and discuss the year ahead. Some discussion points include the board's focus on meeting the goals of the CPCU Society's Circle of Excellence. January 2026 CPCU Meeting Was a Success!

On 1/21/26 we held a virtual meeting with speaker Jim Cruise, SUI from Co-op Insurance. The topic covered Fire Danger and Human Behavior. It was a real eye opener not only as a homeowner or landlord, but how we would act in certain fire situations.

The Vermont CPCU Society Chapter is pleased to announce we are hosting a FREE online class for the CPCU 540: Contributing to Insurer Financial Performance course this Fall! This is a difficult core course, and we want to help, so we have hired Kelli-Jo Cloutier, a recognized course instructor with The Institutes. This online class is open to all Insurance Professionals. There is no fee and membership in the Vermont Chapter of CPCU is not required. However, students will need to purchase the study material and exam separately.

Course details:

  • Date & Time: Wednesday’s 12-1 pm starting 09/10/25 – 10/22/25
  • Testing Window: 10/15/25 – 12/15/25
  • Microsoft Teams platform for online class
  • CPCU 540: Contributing to Insurer Financial Performance should be purchased prior to the start of class (CPCU® | The Institutes). Estimated costs for study material $399-$499 and exam $349-$429.


Instructor background: Kelli-Jo Cloutier is the Controller at Co-operative Insurance Companies and lives in Addison, VT. She holds CPCU, AIC, AIS, AIAF, and ARe designations. Kelli-Jo is currently an adjunct Accounting Professor at Champlain College. She has been with Co-op for 12 years where she has worked her way from Accounting Intermediate to Assistant Controller to her current role as Controller. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting and associate’s degree in paralegal studies from Champlain College and her master’s degree in accounting at the Southern New Hampshire University.

Announcing New and Free CPCU Virtual Series to be held Fall 2023–Spring 2025!

The Vermont CPCU Society Chapter is pleased to announce we are hosting a series of FREE online classes for all CPCU core courses CPCU 500 (Fall 2023), 520 (Spring 2024), 540 (Fall 2024) and 530 (Spring 2025)! You can sign up for an individual class or join us for the entire series this Fall! Students will need to purchase the study material and exams separately. Kelli-Jo Cloutier, a recognized course instructor with The Institutes, will be teaching each course. These online classes are open to all Insurance Professionals and anyone with an interest in obtaining the CPCU designation.
